Tile Project Using Custom Cementitious Tiles
Made and Installed by Tami Dye Using Olde World Tile Molds

TAMI DYE - RUSSELLVILLE, KY.
CUSTOM KITCHEN FLOOR TILE PROJECT

We wanted a unique tile and hardwood floor in our kitchen. The home was built in 1946 and we wanted to stick with a rustic look. We estimated that this floor would have cost us over $1500.00 if we purchased the tile and still installed it ourselves. Total cost after we poured and stained our own tiles was about $400.00. My dad donated the walnut wood from his workshop. We used 6x6 inch tiles, and I ended up using just two different colors, and just played around with mixing the two colors together. All the same project. We did also use the stains on our back patio. I should add that we stained our tiles with a sprayer after the curing process. I get lots of compliments on both projects and people can't believe we did it ourselves.

This project took us about three months to complete because we would pour about 24 tiles each night that we poured. I think we made close to 800 tiles for this floor. I would do it again in a heart beat. And it turned out exactly as I had hoped. Another very happy customer for Olde World Molds.
